Todd Rogers graduated from the California University in Santa Barbara. In this days, he probably did not suppose that he is standing in front of a door of the international sport career and a key to the door is situated on one of the Californian beach.
While still a student, Rogers played his first professional tournament with Canyon Ceman, but after graduation from the University in 1996, he really spread his wings playing along with his teammate Dax Holdern. In 1997, Rogers was chosen the Rookie of the year AVP Tour (American Beach Volleyball Tour) and the pair notched their first tournament win in 1998.
In 2000 Rogers and Holdern picked up their first FIVB World Tour title in Rosarito, Mexico.
During their six years as partners, Rogers and Holdren were moderately successful, with 8 first-place, 7 second-place, and 4 third-place finishes.
After the great adventure with Dax Holdern, Todd Rogers changed his partner to Sean Scott (2002-2006), however, the modification did not provide him much success (only 4 victories in the AVP Tour), but all good just approaching.
In 2006, Rogers began working with Phil Dalhausser and as it toured out it was the best decision made up by Todd Rogers . The pair won eight AVP events and one FIVB event in 2006. Rogers also won the season-ending round-robin tournament, earning the title, "God of the Beach".
In 2007, Rogers and Dalhausser finished the 2007 AVP season as the dominant winners, finishing with more than 800 points over the second place team with 10 tournament wins.
The duo also won the FIVB World Championships in Gstaad, Switzerland, the first such win in U.S. men's beach volleyball history.
One year ago, Rogers and his teammate have been a dominant force on both the 2008 AVP and FIVB tours. They have eight domestic wins, and three international wins, all in Grand Slam events. What is more, they achieved the greatest success of all. On the 22nd of August in Beijing, the pair won the Olympic gold medal and Todd Rogers was nominated the MVP the tournament and a few weeks later the best defensive player of the year.
Over the next four years, Todd Rogers won the bronze medal at the World Championships in 2009 in Stavanger, Norway and 18 FIVB World Tour tournaments being 28 times on the podium.
During his career, Todd Rogers appeared in three Olympic competitions, won 23 FIVB World Tour titles, and he has earned about 2.000.000 $ on the sand.
Todd Rogers’ previous teammate Phil Dalhausser produces a pair of another American star - Sean Rosenthal. It is worth mentioning that Sean Rosenthal and his hitherto partner Jake Gibb occurred to be the best in the last season FIVB World Tour race.
